About Us
Welcome to our Musical Geography project on Black minstrel troupes! We are undergraduate students at St. Olaf College who took Louis Epstein’s MUSIC 345 seminar, Race, Identity and Representation in American Music in the fall of 2021. This final project took up the majority of the second half of our semester-long class. We have endeavored to research our topic to the best of our ability, but as undergraduates with many obligations, we have had to leave some research leads to future researchers. We hope that our project will serve as a great resource and encourage further mapping research on this very important subject.
