While this process started out as a project in a class done for a grade, we all have ended up taking away meaningful lessons and connections to our identities as musicians, students, and humans. Through this project, we have learned about the research process and the dedication it takes to research someone who is not as well known as her contemporaries. Furthermore, we have learned together about Lillian Evanti herself, who we think is not as well known as she should be. For us, it was amazing to see that Evanti performed in places very near to some of our hometowns and in venues we recognize. History is right in front of us, and we are glad we got the opportunity to find out more about it. It was also gratifying for us to apply our majors and interests in researching within the musical field, gathering data points, then subsequently forming them into a digital map. It was exciting for us to see it all come together, and we hope you enjoy the results and learn something new!
